PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Shammi Akter Satu is a Professor at the Department of Urban and Regional Planning in Jahangirnagar University, where she teaches urban planning, housing, real estate, planning laws and land management. Her research interests lie in the field of housing studies focusing on housing policy analysis, low income settlements; livability of neighborhoods; land management issues; and gender issues in urban planning. She obtained her PhD and MSc in Urban Planning from The University of Hong Kong; and BURP (Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning) and MURP (Masters of Urban and Regional Planning) from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET).
