SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Professor Mohammad Lutfor Rahman is a distinguished economist with a remarkable career spanning over 19 years, marked by a relentless passion for economics and an unwavering commitment to academic excellence. His journey into the world of economics began uniquely in the banking sector, where he gained invaluable experience at both Commercial Bank and the Central Bank before realizing his dream of becoming a teacher in 2007. Since then, he has dedicated himself in imparting knowledge and nurturing a profound understanding of economic principles, earning a reputation as a highly skilled and engaging research & teaching.
Professor Rahman's academic odyssey commenced at Jahangirnagar University, where he earned both his BSc and MSc degrees, proudly graduating as part of the distinguished Batch 25. Seeking to broaden his horizons and delve deeper into the subject, he embarked on an international journey to the USA, where he successfully obtained a Master's degree in Economics from Wichita State University (WSU), Kansas, in 2015. This experience broadened his horizons and provided him with valuable insights into global economic dynamics.
Beyond the classroom, Professor Rahman is a prolific writer, contributing extensively to esteemed publications such as the Daily Ittefaq and the Daily Bonik Barta. His ability to distill complex economic concepts into accessible and engaging articles has made economics more relatable to the general public, showcasing his versatility as both an educator and a communicator.
Continuing his steady pursuit of knowledge and academic excellence, Professor Rahman returned to the United States, earning his second Master's degree in Quantitative Analysis & Econometrics. Currently, he is in the final phase of his PhD program, specializing in Health Economics, at the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), Tennessee, USA. This reflects his steadfast dedication to advancing his expertise in economics and making substantial contributions to the field through rigorous research and scholarship.
Throughout his career, Professor Mohammad Lutfor Rahman has completed numerous research projects in areas such as Financial Institutions & Capital Markets and Health Economics, securing funding from institutions like UGC, Jahangirnagar University, NGOs, INGOs, and government bodies. He has published a diverse array of 17 articles covering topics such as health, labor, local government policy, financial institutions, and capital markets. Mr. Rahman has also actively participated in numerous seminars, workshops, and lectures both in Bangladesh and the USA, further enriching his knowledge and insights. Besides, Mr. Rahman has also received competitive research grants from different national organizations including University Grant Commissions of Bangladesh.
