PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Farhana Rahman is now the Lecturer of the Faculty of Biological Sciences, Jahangirnagar University (JU). She is involved in teaching and research in Mycology, Plant Pathology and Mushroom Sciences at the Department of Botany, JU.
She has completed her SSC from Laxmipur Govt. Girls' High School from Laxmipur district and HSC from Lalmatia Girls' College in Dhaka. After that she completed her B.Sc. (honours) and M.Sc degree from the dept of Botany of the Jahangirnagar university. She completed her M.Sc thesis and research work from the Mycology and Plant Pathology field from the Jahangirnagar University. Just after completing her M.Sc. degree, She joined NGO FORUM as a Research Officer which is one of the largest organizations in the NGO sector of Bangladesh supported by the European Union. Meanwhile, she completed another Masters program M.Ph from the State University in Dhaka. After that, she joined as a Lecturer in the department of Environmental Science of the State University of Bangladesh and served the said department for 4 years. Then she joined Daffodil University in the department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management as a Lecturer and she worked there for 4 years. Within this time, she has published some international and national articles. Moreover, she has attended many national and international conferences where she presented some of her research articles. She was awarded two times as the best young researcher in the Asia Pacific Academic Conference which was held in Bali, Indonesia in 2010 and in Seoul, South Korea in 2011. Now she is doing her P.hd on Mycology and Plant Pathology branch in the dept of Botany of Jahangirnagar University.
