PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Md. Awal Al Kabir is a Professor of Management at the Faculty of Business Studies, Jahangirnagar University. He is a seasoned academic, researcher, human resource management specialist, and professional trainer with extensive experience in teaching, leadership, and organizational development.  He joined Jahangirnagar University in 2010 and served as Chairman of the Department of Management Studies from 2014 to 2017.

Prof. Kabir began his academic journey with outstanding achievements, ranking 5th in the Combined Merit list inCumilla Board in the SSC examinations. He went on to complete his HSC from Dhaka City College before earning both his BBA in Management and MBA in Human Resource Management from the University of Dhaka. He later pursued an MSc in Business and Management at the University of Nottingham, UK—one of the world’s leading institutions—where he was awarded the prestigious 'Dean's Merit Scholarship for Excellence.'

In recognition of his contributions to academia, he received the Bangladesh Educational Leadership Award in 2017 as the Best Professor in Management, presented by the South Asian Partnership Summit, India. He is also an active trainer for organizations including BPATC, National Youth Development Centre, DESCO, and various local and multinational organizations.

Prof. Kabir has an extensive portfolio of international publications and has participated in numerous global conferences in the UK, France, Germany, China, Thailand, Malaysia, India, and other. Beyond academia, he remains engaged in various social and community development initiatives, reflecting his commitment to community development.
