PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Mohammad Abdur Razzak is a Professor of Zoology department of Jahangirnagar University. He joined at Zoology department as a Lecturer in October 2010. Before joining in Jahangirnagar University Dr. Razzak served in Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) as a Scientific Officer from October 2006. He has also completed Regional Cooperative Agreement (RCA) training from Daejon, Republic of Korea in 2010.
Dr. Razzak awarded PhD from University of Florida, USA in 2018. During his PhD, he concentrated himself to develop an integrated approach for management of Melon thrips, Thrips palmi Karny, infests different vegetable and horticultural crops in South Florida. He obtained both B. Sc. (Hons.) and M. Sc. degree from Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Dr. Razzak is a member of Entomological Society of America (ESA). He has published several research articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals.
His research interests include integrated management of insect pests of agricultural and floricultural crops. He also does research on insect ecology, behavior, and conservation biology. He was born in 1979, Tangail, Bangladesh and grew up in a small village.
