PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Seema Hoque is a Professor in the Department of Archaeology. She awarded Ph.D. from the Poona University in 1996 in Archaeology.  Her specializtion is in Archaeozoology. She is faculty since 2000 and teaching Ancient Art and Architecture of South Asia, Archaeozoology, Archaeobotany and Environmental Archaeology in Department of Archaeology, Jahangirnager University from Sept. 2000 to the present time. She also taught Art, Architecture, Iconography and Theatre as a part time teacher in Department of Drama and Dramatics, Jahangirnagar University from Dec. 1999- Sept. 2000 and also worked with UNESCO Dhaka in Culture Sector in 2007-2008 .

She is a life member of Indian Society for Prehistoric and Quaternary Studies (ISPQS), Asiatic Society of Bangladesh, Dhaka, Bangladesh History Association, Dhaka and Member of ICOMOS.

She presented research papers in national and International conferences. She reviewed the Nomination Dossier of 13th century Ramappa Temple in Palampet, Telangana state of India which is inscribed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO on 25th June 2021. Also reviewed several research papers.
