PROFILE
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Dr. Shishir Ghosh was born in Dhaka (1982) and studied at Jahangirnagar University (Bangladesh), where he received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Chemistry. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Inorganic Chemistry on the subject of bio-inspired electrocatalysts and electrocatalysis under the guidance of Dr. Graeme Hogarth at ‘University College London (UCL), UK’ as a Commonwealth Scholar. He also worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate at ‘King’s College London (KCL), UK’ for six months. Later, he was awarded a ‘Georg Forster Research Fellowship’ by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and spent two years with Prof. Dr. Todd B. Marder at Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (Germany) as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow.
He was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Chemistry at Jahangirnagar University in 2009 and later promoted to Assistant Professor in 2012 and then became an Associate Professor in 2016. He has been working as a Professor in the same institution since 2021.
RESEARCH INTEREST
His research interest covers diverse areas within the scope of Inorganic Chemistry with particular emphasis on catalysis, organometallic and bioinorganic Chemistry.
