SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Istihak Rayhan is an esteemed academician currently a Lecturer at the Department of Economics of Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. With a profound dedication to research, his interests span across various domains including Health Economics, Public Health, Environmental Economics, and Econometrics. Rayhan has authored over 25 publications, spanning both national and international journals. Moreover, he has played integral roles in various research projects, undertaking positions as both a Research Assistant and leading projects as a supervisor or research director.

His impressive educational background underscores Rayhan's academic prowess. He completed his Master of Science in Economics from the Department of Economics of Jahangirnagar University with outstanding performance, securing a GPA of 4.00 out of 4.00, positioning himself as 1st class 1st position holder. Similarly, he excelled in his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the same institution, attaining a CGPA of 3.94 out of 4.00, also achieving 1st class 1st position. His commitment to enhancing his analytical skills led him to complete a short course titled "Data Analysis Using SPSS and R" from the Department of Statistics and Data Sciences at Jahangirnagar University. Subsequently, he received advanced training in data analysis utilizing tools like SPSS, STATA, and R.

Rayhan's academic excellence has been recognized and rewarded on several occasions. Notably, for securing the highest marks in the Social Sciences Faculty of Jahangirnagar University, he was honored with the prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal in 2017. Furthermore, he received the highest grades in the Master's exam (2016) from all departments at Jahangirnagar University, and the President of Bangladesh awarded him the Shorfudding Gold Medal at the Sixth Convocation of Jahangirnagar University in 2023.

Before commencing his tenure at Jahangirnagar University, Rayhan served as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University, Gopalganj-8100, Bangladesh, spanning from November 25, 2018, to February 22, 2021. Additionally, he held roles as an Adjunct Faculty member across various departments, including Public Health and Informatics, as well as Finance and Banking at Jahangirnagar University. Furthermore, Rayhan took on adjunct positions at the Department of Economics at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University (Gopalganj), the Humanities Department at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET), the Economics Department at American International University of Bangladesh (AIUB), and the Economics Department at Bangladesh University. He also instructs Economics courses at the Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, alongside Health Economics courses at the Department of Public Health and Informatics at Jahangirnagar University. He has taught a diverse range of courses including Microeconomic Theory, Macroeconomic Theory, Econometrics, Development Experience, Health Economics, International Trade, and Agriculture Economics & Rural Livelihoods.
