PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Tanjinul Hoque Mollah, PhD
Professor, Department of Geography and Environment
Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka-1342, Bangladesh

I completed my Ph.D. in Regional Sciences at the Graduate School of Letters, Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan. With extensive experience in social and rural studies, my work integrates cutting-edge techniques like Global Climate Modeling (GCM), Predictive Species Distribution Modeling (PSDM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Remote Sensing. I utilize a range of statistical software including The Unscrambler X, JMP, R, and SPSS to analyze complex data sets and derive meaningful insights.

My current research interests include:

  • Precision Agriculture using UAV Technology: Exploring the use of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to enhance agricultural practices through detailed monitoring and data analysis.
  • Agricultural Systems and Dynamics: Investigating the evolving trends and dynamics of agricultural systems to optimize productivity and sustainability.
  • Land Change Modeling (LCM) and CA-Markov Model: Using Cellular Automata (CA) and Markov models to predict and analyze land use changes over time.
  • Land Use and Cover Modeling: Assessing and forecasting changes in land use patterns using advanced modeling techniques.
  • Threatened Species Distribution Modeling: Predicting the distribution of threatened species using various statistical and machine learning models to support conservation efforts.
  • Global Climate Modeling: Analyzing the impact of climate change on various geographical and environmental parameters using comprehensive climate models.

I have a strong background in applying GIS and Remote Sensing for spatial analysis, alongside statistical and computational tools to address complex issues in environmental and agricultural research. My ongoing projects focus on integrating these methods to develop innovative solutions for sustainable land use and agricultural management.
