Master of Business Administration (MBA)

Program Overview 

The name of the program shall be Master of Business Administration (MBA).This program is a combination of both theoretical and practical components. Only the students who have achieved a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree from a department of the Faculty of Business Studies at Jahangirnagar University shall be eligible to get admission into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program of the respective department. 

Medium of Instruction

English shall be used as a medium of instruction for the entire program.

Structure of the Program

The MBA program is a three consecutive semester program over a period of one and half years. Total credit hours would be 39 (Thirty nine) in total. The duration of each semester shall be of six months including classes, preparatory leave and final examination. At the end of each first and second semester, there shall be a viva-voce.

The program is comprised with course work, viva-voce and a research project/thesis (in the third semester). The number of courses to be offered shall depend on the individual department and the department shall decide on the basis of following requirements. The program structure, credits, and marks distribution shall be as follows:

Credit breakdown for each semester shall be as follows:

First semester

5 courses ( 5 * 3 credits)

= 15 credits

Semester end viva-voce

= 1.5 credit

= 16.5 credits

 

Second semester

5 courses ( 5 * 3 credits)

= 15 credits

Semester end viva-voce

= 1.5 credit

= 16.5 credits

 

Third semester (Master thesis)
