PROFILE

SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Mohd. Muzibur Rahman is a Professor, Department of Statistics and Data Science, Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka. He completed his Ph.D. under the supervision of Professor Dr. Megu Ohtaki, Department of Environmetrics and Biometrics, Hiroshima University, Japan in 2006. He has nearly 30 years of professional experience in the research field mainly covered Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Survival Analysis, Public health, Demography and other areas. He has experience of data analysis that covered measurement of different clinically and medically diagnosis and also the knowledge and awareness of HIV and AIDS along with its social consequences.

Dr. Rahman in very much efficient in handling the BDHS data as he used BDHS 2004, 2007, 2011, 2014 and 2018 data in his around 50 supervised M.S. Thesis and Project Reports students. He also used the above data in his undergraduate course laboratory classes. Mr. Rahman is one of the contributors of BDHS 2011 final report. Two M. Phil and 2 Ph. D. degrees were awarded under his supervision and few are in the process of final dissertation using BDHS latest survey data.

Dr. Rahman did his Ph.D. in Medical Science and has a number of publications to his credit. His recent research work in health care management and planning related projects comprises: “Incidence and Prevalence of Abortion in Bangladesh” as Consultant with RTM International and BAPSA under the financial support of NIPORT (National Institute of Population Research and Training), Dhaka, Bangladesh”, “Plan of Nursing Development” as Principal Investigator with RTM International under the financial support of JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), Dhaka, Bangladesh”, “Evaluation of the Process and Impact of LLP” as Chief Evaluator with RTM International under the financial support of WHO, Dhaka, Bangladesh” and “Risk Perception Analysis on HIV/AIDS among WFP (World Food Program) Beneficiaries” as Co-Team Leader with RTM International under the financial support of WFP, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
